History of Brookes Accounting
We are a licensed accountancy and chartered tax advisory service based in Grays, Essex.
Our company was formed in 2002 by Paul Headley. After establishing the fact he wanted to branch out on his own after many years of auditing major companies across the UK, he had to work out what to call this new found company!
This was far more challenging than any tax problems he may have come across! Of course, these were the days of the good old Yellow Pages. The dilemma of having a company that was near the front of the ‘Accountants’ section in the Yellow Pages but (and I quote!) “..not in the ‘A’s’ because that’s too obvious”.
The answer came to him whilst staring across the road through our front office window. The name Brooke Road jumped out at him. The required early mention in the relevant section of the Yellow Pages and a connection to location (albeit loosely!)…both boxes ticked!
We’ve come a long way….
We’ve come a long way since the Yellow Pages days of course! But the experience Paul brought with him and the knowledge he passed down to us all has been invaluable. No greater accountant has there ever been, but then, after all, I’m biased being family!
His legacy lives on through me and the team here at Brookes Accounting Services Limited. Our company is still a family business and still offering friendly, down to earth advice on all things tax and accounting related.
Our client base ranges across the world from Hong Kong, Jordan, Spain and of course the UK. We find most of our clients come here and stay here! This could be down to our dazzling personalities….or maybe it is our down to earth, easy to understand advice which is on hand when you come onboard with us.
Whilst some of our clients still prefer to use the good old red ledger books, many are realising the potential online cloud accounting software brings to the table.
